Estrategias de comunicación en el ecosistema de los videojuegos: un enfoque relacional basado en el análisis de canales y perfiles de usuario

La creciente relevancia de las plataformas digitales ha transformado profundamente las estrategias de comunicación y creación de valor en la industria del videojuego, favoreciendo la aparición de ecosistemas participativos donde desarrolladores, creadores de contenido y comunidades de jugadores interactúan de forma continua. En este contexto, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar las funciones comunicativas que desempeñan distintas plataformas digitales en la generación de digital engagement y proponer un modelo relacional que explique la creación de valor dentro del ecosistema comunicativo del videojuego.
Para ello, se desarrolló una investigación cualitativa de carácter comparativo basada en un análisis de contenido estructurado de 60 unidades de análisis procedentes de TikTok y Twitch, correspondientes a tres videojuegos representativos (Fortnite, League of Legends y Genshin Impact). El estudio empleó una estrategia de muestreo intencional y una matriz de codificación diseñada específicamente para identificar funciones comunicativas, patrones de interacción y configuraciones relacionales entre plataformas, creadores de contenido y comunidades de usuarios.
Los resultados muestran que las plataformas analizadas desempeñan funciones diferenciadas y complementarias dentro del ecosistema digital. Mientras TikTok concentra principalmente contenidos orientados al descubrimiento y la captación de nuevas audiencias, Twitch favorece procesos de evaluación, aprendizaje y fidelización mediante formas de interacción más intensas y continuadas. A partir del análisis comparativo se identifican tres configuraciones relacionales: descubrimiento, evaluación y fidelización, que sustentan la propuesta de un modelo relacional capaz de explicar cómo la interacción entre plataformas, creadores de contenido y usuarios contribuye a la generación de digital engagement y a la creación de valor.
Como principal aportación, el estudio propone un marco conceptual que amplía los enfoques centrados en plataformas individuales al interpretar el digital engagement como un proceso relacional y ecosistémico. Este modelo ofrece nuevas implicaciones tanto para la investigación en comunicación digital y marketing de videojuegos como para el diseño de estrategias de comunicación multiplataforma orientadas a fortalecer la participación y la sostenibilidad de las comunidades digitales.
