In an environment marked by the normalisation of disinformation (Magallón-Rosa and Sánchez-Duarte 2021, p. 145) and with constant citizen and institutional concern about its consequences, it is urgent to implement solutions that reinforce the resilience of audiences in the face of information disorders. Fact checking and media literacy are two of the responses that have received most impetus from public institutions and as a result the relationship between the two disciplines has become closer Frau-Meigs (2022, p. 913). The literacy programmes that various fact-checking organisations have set up is one of these points of convergence between the two areas. From this perspective, we propose an exploratory study on the literacy policies that these verification platforms have implemented in three European countries: Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The sample is limited to those verifiers accredited by the International Fact-Checking Network in those countries in October 2022.
