El periodismo de soluciones como instrumento para renovar la agenda setting y favorecer el engagement de la audiencia
Resumen
La saturación informativa, los altos niveles de desinformación y la mala calidad de las noticias publicadas por los medios de comunicación generan un rechazo generalizado en las audiencias, que prefieren informarse de lo que acontece por canales de información alternativos como las redes sociales. El periodismo de soluciones, una especialidad periodística derivada del slow journalism que ofrece respuesta a los problemas sociales, se presenta como una opción óptima para recuperar la confianza perdida en los medios y mejorar el engagement de la audiencia. El presente ensayo expone la situación en que se encuentra el periodismo de soluciones desde la perspectiva de los estudios de recepción de audiencias y analiza, mediante la técnica de la revisión bibliográfica, los resultados de las investigaciones desarrolladas por los expertos durante la última década a nivel global. El análisis practicado señala la existencia de una corriente de opinión en favor del periodismo de soluciones, cuyas informaciones resultan más creíbles e interesantes que las tradicionales. Sin embargo, ese clima favorable no se traduce necesariamente en un mayor consumo de noticias propias del periodismo de soluciones; por el contrario, los resultados indican que las audiencias globales siguen prefiriendo consumir noticias narradas desde enfoques negativos en mayor medida.
